FAQ

  • Does my mailbox need to be USPS approved?

A mailbox does not need formal approval from the Postmaster General to receive USPS mail delivery, provided it meets USPS-STD-7C standards for size, durability, and functionality. The only exception is if you live in a homeowners association (HOA) that requires formal approval.

  • Are CortexMail mailboxes USPS approved?

No, CortexMail Gyrus Series mailboxes are not approved by the USPS, but they meet all USPS-STD-7C standards. CortexMail has reached out to USPS to start the approval process but has received no response. Pictured above is a test sticker in anticipation of approval.

  • Can the mailbox be installed on any post?

Yes, the Gyrus Series is compatible with most mailbox posts, ensuring straightforward installation with its wooden bottom. Screws are included. If your new post doesn't come with a mounting plate, one is available as an add-on.

  • Where is the mailbox manufactured?

The Gyrus Series is 100% fabricated and assembled in the USA, with 84% of materials sourced domestically and only 1.9% from China.
